"Nature Boy" is a prophetic song about universal love wrapped in a hauntingly beuatiful melody. We arranged the song in 3/4 time and included 2 versions - one sung in French and one in English. Rich Sikorski’s sublime vocals are supported by Steve Rice’s atmospheric accordion, Greg Ruby’s weaving guitar lead lines and Michael Gamble’s sonorous bass.

“Nature Boy” was a no. 1 hit for Nat King Cole in 1948 but how this came to be is as mysterious as the song itself. The story goes that during soundcheck at the Lincoln Theater in Los Angeles, Cole’s driver was approached by a long-haired man on a bicycle who asked him to deliver an original piece of sheet music to Cole. The man making this curious request then rode off on his bike without even leaving a name. Cole was entranced by the song and decided to record it - which required a search of Los Angeles to find its author. Eventually, eden ahbez, who lived under the Hollywood sign, was located. Known as one of “California’s Nature Boys,” (a proto-hippie if you will), ahbez immediately agreed to Cole’s recording as ahbez wanted his message of love delivered to the world.
