Isis Music Hall is excited to present West Coast Gypsy Jazz musicians Greg Ruby (Seattle) and Evan Price (San Francisco) in a rare Asheville appearance. In 2010, Price—a two-time GRAMMY -winning violinist best known for his work with the Hot Club of San Francisco and the Turtle Island Quartet—collaborated with Ruby on a recording of Django/Grappelli-inspired compositions. The result was a CD titled, Look Both Ways, which subsequently reached # 1 on the Roots Music Reports Jazz chart. Drawing on his experience with Seattle-based gypsy jazz ensembles, Pearl Django and Hot Club Sandwich, Ruby has made several CD’s on his own to critical and popular acclaim. Come join the party as this duo unites for a first-ever public performance!

Thanks to 4Culture
Big thanks to 4Culture Heritage and Art Projects for supporting my upcoming project, Syncopated Classic: Rediscovering the Lost Compositions of Seattle Jazz Pioneer Frank D. Waldron. They also highlighted the project on their website, where you can read all about what I’m up to!
Vintage Guitar magazine gives “Washington Hall Stomp” the thumbs-up!
Thanks to Vintage Guitar magazine for a great review of Washington Hall Stomp in their upcoming July issue!
“Swinging Prohibition-era jazz laced with Gypsy jazz-inspired guitar solos thanks to Pearl Django alumn Ruby. ‘Dewdropper’s Dream’ is indeed dreamy, while the title track is rife with hot six-string riffs. Both Satchmo and Django would be proud.”
